Part Time Financial Aid /Collections Coordinator

The Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis (LHSA) is seeking to hire a Financial Aid /Collections
Coordinator at its Lutheran North Middle and High School campus. Lutheran North is a diverse

Summary: The Financial Aid Coordinator must have the ability to multitask effectively. This candidate
must have an approachable personality that reflects the school’s culture. Applicants must efficiently
perform all assigned duties and responsibilities, as outlined below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform various clerical duties: copying and filing, organizing, data entry, and others as assigned
2. Evaluate applications to determine student financial aid eligibility
3. Help parents access and manage their financial aid
4. Utilize the FACTS & Blackbaud Tuition Management computer systems
5. Assist the Director with projects, collecting records, and reports.
6. Effectively communicate with prospective students and parents, in person, via phone, and
written formats
7. Navigate and manage MicroSoft Excel and Word, as well as Google Suite applications
8. Make outbound calls and send emails or letters to customers with past-due accounts.
9. Respond to inbound calls from customers regarding their account status.
10. Explain account details, billing statements, interest or late fees, and repayment options.

1. Organized and personable with excellent customer service skills
2. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
3. Excellent confidentiality skills
4. Excellent verbal, written, and phone communication skills
5. Attentive to detail; precise with numbers and typing
6. A collaborative, self-starter who can work both as part of a team and independently.
7. Computer and data entry expertise – experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
required; experience with Blackbaud products, or a willingness to learn them, preferred.
8. Maintaining professionalism with frustrated or emotional customers.
9. Prioritizing follow-ups and documenting interactions.
10. Ability to create workable payment plans,Persuasion and conflict-resolution abilities and Confidence in handling objections

This is a 25-hour per week, part-time, non-exempt position. The schedule is flexible.
