Celebrating the Wings of Achievement: A Tribute to the Graduating Class of 2024 from Lutheran High School North

Amidst the jubilant echoes of "Pomp and Circumstance," the graduating class of 2024 from Lutheran High School North bid farewell to their alma mater on May 23rd, 2024, at Christ First Church. With hearts brimming with hope and dreams of the future, 46 exceptional students moved their tassels with cherished memories of their high school years.

Psalm 91:4 served as their graduating class verse: "and under his wings you will find refuge." Reverend Michael Salemink, a figure revered not only as a parent to one of the graduates but also as the Executive Director of Lutherans for Life, delivered a poignant message on the significance of this verse, encapsulating the essence of finding solace and protection under the divine embrace amidst life's uncertainties.

As Nathan Wittler took to the podium for the salutatory address, his speech titled "720 Days" reflected upon the transformative journey spanning their high school tenure—a period characterized by growth, challenges, and unwavering perseverance. Wittler's words resonated deeply, echoing the sentiment shared by his peers as they prepared to embark on the next chapter of their lives.

In the valedictory address titled "I Stand Before You Today," Nathan Salemink, with eloquence and poise, encapsulated the collective spirit of resilience and determination that defined the graduating class of 2024. His words served as a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence and the indomitable spirit that propelled them towards their goals.

Beyond the confines of their alma mater, the graduating class of 2024 leaves an indelible mark on the academic landscape, with their achievements reverberating far and wide. With a total of 2.4 million dollars in scholarships accepted, their dedication and hard work have been duly recognized and rewarded. The class applied to 223 colleges, receiving acceptance letters from 105 institutions across the nation. They are dispersing across 10 different states, with 26 colleges having the honor of hosting these exceptional individuals, two of which are LCMS.

As they embark on their respective journeys, the graduating class of 2024 embodies the spirit of resilience, tenacity, and unwavering faith. Though they may be scattered across the country, their collective legacy serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for future graduating classes. As they soar to new heights, may they always find refuge under the protective wings of God.
