May 10th, students and faculty joined Alumni, Mark and Debbie Belew (’72 LHSN) to honor and present, The Mark and Debbie Belew Gymnasium
. This time of celebration was made possible from the friendship and ongoing support of the Belew family.
Mark's passion in life has been his faith, family, basketball, golf, and business endeavors. He graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1976 with a B.A. in Business Administration. He is the owner of Redbird Carriers, a nationwide intermodal trucking company headquartered in St. Louis.
Mark has been involved with a number of charities and the Lutheran community in various leadership roles. He was on the Lutheran High School Association Board of Trustees from 1993-1995.
Mark played college basketball, soccer, and tennis. In 2009, he was inducted into the Missouri Athletic Club's Hall of Fame for basketball. He was also inducted into the Crusader Hall of Honor last fall and will be honored by the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame this May.
Debbie Kaempfe was a 1972 graduate of LHSN and a graduate of the Deaconess School of Nursing. Mark and Debbie established the Stacie Lee Belew Scholarship Fund (honoring their daughter Stacie 1980-2015) to help underprivileged kids receive Christian education.
As a school with rich history and traditions, we greatly appreciate their continued partnership with our community at LHSN and their commitment to supporting a Christian education for all students.
