Sisters Take the Lead: Dynamic Duo Assumes Coaching Roles at Lutheran North

Lutheran North Athletics proudly introduces a dynamic duo of basketball coaches for the upcoming season! We are excited to have both Shakara Jones and Sharese Jones leading our women's teams. What makes this coaching duo even more special is that they are sisters, bringing a unique and fun dynamic to our program.
Shakara and Sharese not only share a strong bond as sisters but also have an equal love and passion for the game of basketball. Their shared experiences and deep understanding of the sport make them a formidable coaching team that will inspire and guide our athletes to new heights.

We are thrilled to have Shakara Jones joining our coaching staff! With an impressive basketball career, Shakara brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team. As a high school player, she achieved remarkable accomplishments, including being named McDonald's All-American, Gatorade Player of the Year nominee, and Miss Show-Me Basketball in 2007. She holds the record for the leading scorer in FHC history, with 2,439 points, 849 rebounds, and 282 blocks over four years. Shakara's skills and dedication earned her a spot on the EA Sports All-America second team and a ranking of No. 97 by Blue Star Basketball. She also played four years at the University of Missouri and had successful stints playing professional basketball overseas. We are excited to see Shakara share her knowledge and passion for the game as she enters her 7th year coaching high school girls' basketball!

Sharese has an impressive basketball background and a deep understanding of the game. During her high school career at Francis Howell Central, she earned numerous accolades, including All-Conference, All-District, All-Metro, and All-State honors. As a four-year starter, Sharese displayed her skills on both ends of the court, averaging 16.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. She accumulated 1,910 points and 841 rebounds throughout her high school years. Sharese continued her basketball journey at Missouri Southern State University, where she played all 111 career games and achieved impressive milestones. She joined the 1,000 Point Club, earned All-MIAA First Team honors, and finished her college career as the fourth-leading scorer in Missouri Southern State Women's Basketball history. Sharese also had the incredible opportunity to represent the USA Team in Brazil as a player, alongside her sister Shakara, where she also served as an assistant coach. Sharese's coaching experience extends to seven years, and we are thrilled to have her knowledge and passion on our coaching staff for the upcoming season!

Get ready for an exciting season ahead with these two remarkable coaches leading the way!
