Basketball Fundraiser

how can your support make an impact?

After a state tournament run during the 2022-23 season, the Lutheran North Basketball program is gearing up for an exciting off-season of play and development. Approximately 35 players will have the opportunity to travel to Concordia University in Nebraska and Mizzou in Columbia, MO, providing program development and team building opportunities, as well as the chance to compete against new teams from the midwest outside of those they play during the regular season.

With your support, the Crusader basketball program can continue to provide valuable opportunities for its players, not only in terms of athletic development but also in building important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, faith formation and dedication. Here's a few additional ways your support will be used:
  • Enable costs for student travel to regional camps and exposure events to remain affordable to families
  • Purchase new basketballs and other training equipment
  • Provide student-athletes needed uniform supplies and team-building experiences

More about the team

The Lutheran North varsity boys basketball team is wrapping up a highly successful 2022-23 season, earning their first State Final Four appearance in a decade and their eighth in program history. Finishing the season as the state runner up, this team embodied the necessary toughness and togetherness to succeed on the court, classroom, and in life. This special group of Crusaders finished the season ranked as the #2 Class 3 in Missouri by MBCA, the #7 Christian high school team in the nation by NCSAA, and the #13 ranked team in the state regardless of class by SBLive. For their work, they will forever have a banner hanging in the rafters like the great student-athletes that came before them.

The Lutheran North Crusader basketball programs foundation is built on four pillars for success: 1) Faith Formation, 2) Support To Manhood, 3) Academic Excellence, and 4) Next Level Basketball Experience. These four pillars guide the players and coaching staff's perspective and performance as they seek daily growth in each of these mentioned areas. Coach Spiller, the 2023 Class 3 District 5 Coach of the Year, will continue to build upon these pillars as he returns 7 varsity athletes and a solid group of talented young men for the 2023-24 season.  Included in the returnees are seniors Bryce Spiller (District Player of the Year), AJ Newton (Leading Rebounder), and Jai Smith (Defensive Specialist). With dedication, hard work, and community support, we believe next season can be a special one for all of our student-athletes and the school community as a whole.  It is our hope that you are willing to give so that we can continue to support our student-athletes in their continued growth as young men of faith and successful student athletes this year and beyond.

Thank you for your believing in and supporting the Lutheran North Crusaders boys basketball program!
